NSR's new grandstand

May 8, 2026

This year we are delighted to introduce a new addition to the NSR event experience at Dorney Lake, thanks to the support of Elston Consulting — a covered 181-seat grandstand positioned at the 1500 metre mark of the course.

For anyone who has watched racing at NSR, you will know that the 1500 metre point is where all the Junior 14 and Junior 15 side by side races on Friday will finish. So for friends and family, this is where to get the best seat to watch the action.

On Saturday and Sunday, this is where the leading crews will push towards the finish line. It is where the ‘Dorney roar’  reaches fever pitch, and where the outcome of racing so often begins to take shape. Having a dedicated seated viewing area at this point on the course gives supporters, families, and spectators somewhere comfortable and elevated to take in the racing at its most dramatic.

The unit seats 181 people and is the highest capacity mobile grandstand of its kind. It is covered, tiered, and designed to give every spectator a clear, unobstructed sightline across the water.

This is part of NSR’s ongoing commitment to improving the experience for everyone who comes to Dorney Lake — not just the athletes on the water, but the thousands of supporters who make the atmosphere of the regatta what it is.

Elston Consulting and National Schools’ Regatta together hope you enjoy taking your seats in a new location.
