NSR is a not-for-profit organisation committed to supporting junior rowing at grass root
NSR Chairman George Hammond is supported by a Committee and a huge team of volunteers. The Committee members are all involved in junior rowing at different schools and clubs bringing a wide range of expertise and perspectives. NSR relies entirely on this team to deliver a first-class event for the competitors, their dedicated coaches and army of supporters.
NSR has continued, since its inception, to recognise the importance of offering racing experience to all levels of rowing competitor and not just the top athletes in the top boats. NSR is a regatta that offers racing to those at the beginning of their junior rowing career and those at the end. Racing is fun for all our competitors, regardless of the level.
Students from rowing clubs and schools train all year to enjoy the summer regatta season, and racing side by side at NSR is one of the rewards for the gruelling training during the winter months. The tension and excitement during the regatta shows how NSR become the event to race at during the junior racing season. To win a NSR gold medal is a great achievement recognised across the rowing community.
