NSR Shop – the impact of the NSR T-Shirt goes beyond the regatta!
Louise Hammond first took on the NSR Shop back in 1989 and has used her creative skills to develop a small home industry of T-Shirt design and rowing goods into an enterprise that has impacted junior rowing nationally.
National Schools’ Regatta is a charity with a mission to support junior rowing across the UK, not just for one or two days at an event. The regatta is still organised by a team of volunteers who work hard to keep the cost of race entry fees as low as possible. A key component to keeping costs to competitors low is the NSR Regatta Shop.
Louise and her team of volunteers have sourced a range of products, appealing to competitors and their supporters with all surplus being directed to the charitable aims of the regatta. Most notable is the annual T-Shirt with the names of every competitor – an item that sells out fast every year! With queues forming early every day, the kit is much in demand and the sales team have always done their best to open early for parents and supporters!
It was such a shame to lose the 2020 Regatta and the annual 'Names' T-shirt and the extended range we had put together - we think you would have loved it. But we will be rolling it over into 2021- here's a sneak peak at what is planned. We will also be introducing an online store for 2021 - with the opportunity to pre-order your products and avoid lengthy queues - look out for posts on Facebook and the website in the months prior to next year's Regatta. Looking forward to seeing you again in the future.
