National Schools' Regatta 2022 concluded on Sunday following 3 days of exciting racing.
With 150 clubs and schools represented in 45 events, the regatta drew supporters from all over the UK and Ireland to watch over 30 hours of racing.
The standard or rowing and sculling from all age groups impressed, it was especially rewarding to see Junior 14 Octuples back at NSR, our youngest competitors always bring a bit of magic to the regatta. The determination of all our competitors, striving to win medals meant racing was exciting to watch at every stage of the day. Huge congratulations to all the Coaches who have been developing highly skilled junior rowers.
Every one of the 45 events was strongly contested, the largest entry at the regatta was in the Leslie Langton Cup for Junior 15 Girls Coxed Quadruple Sculls with 68 crews. Championship Boys Single saw an impressive 40 entries and Championship Girls Single had 41, these were the other 'big entry' events.

The superb Commentary Team led by Dr. Robert Treharne-Jones gave those supporters unable to join the regatta insights and a wonderful review of all the action. Robert worked with a dedicated team of volunteer some with many years of NSR experience, others new to the team - together they all brought knowledge and experience of junior rowing to the airwaves.
The last time NSR welcomed supporters was 2019 as the gates opened on Friday morning there were 70 Club and School Marquees lining the bank of Dorney Lake along 'supporter alley'. Crowds gathered quickly over the early part of each morning. The cheering from the bank for all the races, brings a very special atmosphere for all the competitors and the banks were filled with friends and family out to see juniors racing!
National Schools' Regatta would like to thank NSR Partners, Hydrow UK, Elston Consulting, Hudson Boatworks and Sporting Elite USA, for supporting junior rowing by sponsoring our event. This sponsorship enables NSR to retain the first-class event delivery we aspire to for all our competitors.
We wish all our competitors the best of luck with the rest of the season. We look forward to welcoming you all back next year.
