NSR 2019 still #PushingforaCleanSweep
“The greatest threat to our planet is the belief that someone else will save it.”– Robert Swan, Author
The 2018 regatta initiative to reduce waste and increase recycling was a huge success. We want to thank Parent Volunteer Debbie King for her energy and time working with the regatta to create change. The response from competitors, Coaches and their supporters was incredible. Waste production was reduced by over 40% . The recycling bins were filled. The water tanks emptied. We want to do event better this year!
Let’s work together to reduce waste even more! Follow these tips to ensure we have can do even better together!
Bring reusable water bottles – There will be static tanks to top up your drinking water but bring some water with you.
Food Waste Reduction – Embrace Tupperware! Only bring what you intend to eat and take the rest home! We want to reduce the amount of food waste in the recycling which contaminates the waste and causes it to be sent to landfill.
Recycling – Introduction of Glass recycling on site along side Dry Recyclables so you can separate your waste.
Look out for the sculptural waste bins located on site – thanks to Debbie for bringing those along!
